Not sure. I might make a project of it to remove some pitting and refinish it ,as the pitting is generally shallow and not near any of the proof marks. It would be a fun project but I have no experience rebluing anything or removing pitting.
Then again I may sell it to put the money towards a different luger. Don't know yet, what do you fine gents think? Last edited by Soldat222; 03-21-2014 at 10:33 AM. |

A great shooter.
Removing that pitting would be pretty futile-some is so bad it would need filling in and buffing-much more work here than value. Resale low on this piece, but 5-6 hunnert easy. Shoot it. |

The pitting is severe.
When I was a kid, a few little friends in the neighborhood exchanged our thought on food. One kid told us that he only ate "lean pork without fat"; another kid said "fat is Ok, I can eat fat, but I don't eat pork skin"; yet the 3rd kid expressed "pork skin is eatable, but if it has fur on it, I could not eat it" (that's me ![]() For guns, bad pits are very hard to handle, buffing is not enough, need welding. |
