Yes Hugh more or less like that.

You've got a beautiful commercial 1911, I suppose it's one of the first "government 1911" made by Colt.

In my life I had two of them, one was imported many years before through West Germany and still had a WG stamp on it, the other one was nothing special either, so in the end I sold both of them. At the moment I still have two 1911 A1 (one Colt and one Remington Rand), the Colt is quite nice while the RR is an "arsenal rebuild" so isn't really a collectible and being included in the "collection" I'm not even allowed to take it to the range but I like it as I think it represents a page of history and it probably has been a good war-horse maybe even after the WWII.
