Nice looking repro item, looks like it would go well with one of those Numrich repro snail drums I've heard of recently.
The giveaway for me was the stiching, a little too irregular, and it's stained dark where the leather's dark. Looks a lot like my repro C-96 stock leather I got from Northridge a year of so ago, and it, too had the 'stained stitching' that this one seems to have... The caveat being I'm no leather expert, just my observations. Didn't know about the anachronistic date stamp issue, myself. |

Along with the issue that leather drum holders were never made or issued--only the canvas examples stand a chance of being real.
