Default 1937 S42 Identification

I have a 1937 S/42, serial number 9121. It has a stick eagle on the barrel. It has no waffenamt on the right side of the frame. Why is there no proof marks on the frame? Condition is overall 90% or better with all matching numbers, matching grip numbers and one matching magazine. Approximate value?

Thanks

If it went into the military, it got proofed and inspected and marked. Perhaps they have been removed. Also possible it's a mix of parts including a commercial receiver.

Is there a suffix letter under the numeric digits on the front of the frame?

Pictures always help.

There is a lower case "a" in script under the serial number on frame
