The Luger you have pictured is a standard WWI military P08 made in 1918, and stamped with the 1920 property mark indicating that it was in the hands of the German army in that year. The original 4-inch barrel has been replaced with one of 6 inches, probably of modern manufacture. It has been reblued, probably with a chemical salt blue.
You do not specify the caliber. If it is 9mm, it will probably make someone a nice shooter for $800 or so. If it is .30 Luger it will be a much tougher sell as a shooter, only to someone dedicated to that caliber, because the ammunition is hard to come by. If the original grips are in good shape you should easily be able to get $150 or so for them all by themselves. It will be interesting to see the other two Lugers you mention. --Dwight |
