Kind of the opposite of what is happening with those WW II P-38's up in Iceland (or Greenland or wherever)...They were landed & abandoned on a glacier and have gradually been iced over to 100' or so depth IIRC...Last I read, a team had dug through the ice and was melting & pumping the ice/water away to try to recover at least one of the four planes...I think they got one out...

From time to time they find remnants of the WWI near our border with Austria, that remind us how many people died in that war.
