I saw a show on the Military channel called "Rich and Will's Top 10 Shootouts" and they had one of those very one's you speak of, a full auto 1911 with the front grip & the extended magazine (20 round I think). They said that Baby face Nelson used one. They also demonstrated it, very cool!
