Hi,
What am I missing? There is a used P08 barrel on eBay, item 251387977641, for which there there have been 48 bids and the current bid is $650. Aldo35 |

So, who's going to be the winner? n***0 or a***5, I think n***o hit his limit and the barrel will go to a***5.

People let egos override being rational. To some people, paying a lot more than it's worth for something is less painful than getting beat out of it. Ebay loves it when this happens.....

barrel...
OK, I believe Ed when he says the seller is straight up.... certainly not his problem in someone wants that particular barrel that bad.. And, being that there is at least two of them bidding, maybe we're missing something here?? The number is strange to me, but rare and early examples usually are, and there is not much to reference to?? My only logical guess is that this barrel may be a 1902 9mm fat barrel?? Or, an early prototype??? I can't really tell by the picture perspective.. It's my one and only guess...... best to all, til..lat'r...GT....
Just looked at the pic again...cut for a late extractor??....not 1902... oh well.... back to the crazy theory..... |

Interesting that after $55 all bidders have either only 1 or 0 prior bid history. I'm doubting that the seller will ever see that kind of money in his hand from that barrel.
But who knows? They say that these things happen. But never on MY sales... dju |

$650 luger barrel
Hi,
How can you tell who is bidding? I have only seen the current bid. I agree with some other comments, I have watched several auctions and seen astronomical final bids for rather ordinary parts which on GB auctions sell at reasonable prices. Aldo35 |

I have to assume that one of the bidders pulled his bids, as you can see one bidder has numerous bids - this appears to me that all of anothers bids were dropped or pulled by the other bidder - I have been screwed by a bidder bidding it way up and then at the last moment someone pulls all their bids and the item drops way down...

yes, over the years I have sold on ebay, it has happened a couple of times. In this case I just think one ebayer pulled out. But I have had bids pulled / had the item 'reported' and it gets pulled by ebay - yet there were scores, if not a couple of hundred of same item on ebay (was legal software) - people can play dirty on ebay and it can be frustrating, but out of a thousand deals, only had a handful that were bad?

Probably have to open a case to cancel bid.
Alternatively, it must be easy to call Ebay service representative to cancel bid. They won't force bidder to buy things that he does not like, or changes mind. But $650 historical bid proved one thing -- $650 was virtually nothing for bidders, as long as no one says it's too high The price of a steel tube can be anywhere, $50, or $650. |

It shows on your ebay 'record' for six months or a year that you retracted a bid. \
But all it takes is for the bidder to fill out a form and it just occurs unless they have changed it and that I doubt.

Never let any bidder with "0" feedback bid on your items without prior permission. Too many people create multiple accounts and frequent user name changes to shill bid.
