One to Watch on GB.com

This one is no-reserve and seems like an honest matching gun. I'm wondering aloud if the mag. isn't re-stamped because of the contour, but the suffix seems good... Anyway, any guesses what it will go for? I'm on the sidelines, but will guess $1600'ish, but closing price is a crap-shoot. dju |

Hi David, The magazine is incorrect, it should be a Type 3 Army (crimped blued steel tube), not the extruded Type 4, and the base should look like this.

Norm:
So, given the matching number AND suffix, it appears that someone has gone to a great deal of trouble to try to fool potential buyers out of their money? I guess it calls into question the rest of the package. Thanks! dju |

Norm is right, there were no fxo magazines in 1939. My vote would be the magazine is a "r" suffix mag from 1941 that had it serial number removed and re-stamped to match. Not a ding on the bottom after 70 years?

The 4 looks different on different parts of the gun. Would they all have been made with the same punch set?
