Bill,

As mentioned above, I purchased #100 of the Hornady XTP(HP) .309in. bullets from Natchez Shooting just to give them a trial. They have not been available for a loooong time. I am not sure how my Lugers are going to react to a HP bullet, but I plan to give it a try.

These bullets did not come with a cannalure, but I have a cannalure tool, and added a cannalure to a few of them to try. I load all of my 30 Luger rounds as long(OAL) as possible, so I calculated the location where a cannalure should be and give me an OAL of approx. 1.165in. I have not been to the range with them just yet. These bullets are only a couple of bucks/100 more than the JSP bullets. I wish someone made a 93gr FMJRN bullet in 309in. with a cannalure for reloading like Fiocchi uses in their factory ammo. They use a roll crimp for added safety....as does Winchester/Western Super X 30 luger ammo.
