Herb, if its got you stumped then my advice is probably insignificant, but it can't be the magazines, its got to be the gun, the only thing that holds is the magazine catch, is the spring there? It would be easy to lose and the catch won't pop out otherwise. Look if the magazines are scratched from the slot up. Hope you didn't do any damage.
