Its a Mec-Gar, modern construction, made in Italy. High quality. I have several which I use in my Lugers for shooting. There may be a story behind them, if so someone else on the forum surely knows it. The proper magazine for this gun would be aluminum bottom, with serial# and proof. I don't have one. --Dwight
