I would definitly agree with Tom above and start out with Jan's five books and Lugers At Random. I bought the Sturgess 3 volume set and they are perfect for veteran luger collectors but not for daily use! Too heavy to rest on your lap but great for specifics! There are over 1900 pages. Knowing where to look is hard enough perfect for seasoned collectors but confusing for new! Jan laid it our in five categories, easy to use and easy to read. I still rely in the his books below and have had to search Sturgess for additional refined research. ~~~Eric
