On the grips(not just for Luger) that I want a glossy finish on, I use Birchwood-Casey Tru-Oil, and for those that I want more of a satin finish, I use Formsby's Tung Oil finish. I usually do not use wood stains on the grips that I refinish. Occasionally, I will use boiled linseed oil for the refinish.
