I give her credit for it's appreciation. Too many over the years have been taken by gunshow parking lot scoundrals for pennies on the dollar.

A local vet tells how he showed his mom his souvenier Luger.

She took it and he never saw it again.
A lot of folks see no good in pistols.

I collected from local vets in the 50s and 60s.
Unbelieveable how many different types were around.

She looks like she is ready for snoozing.

I'm surprised that there is no cable tie strap thru the barrel, usually mandatory for taking a firearm into a show environment.

Some shows simply inspect the gun and apply a tag on them, like the one seen in the photo.

Guys who get the tables by the door can be predatory as well, waiting for suckers to blunder into the kill zone.
Some kid on another board was braying like a jackass about a rifle he got for pennies from an old lady who thought a certain feature made her think it was "broken."

There are all types in this hobby. This problem will grow in the coming years as more vets pass away and clueless family members show up at gun shows looking for valuations and a sale.

Most dealers are honest, but some just can't resist a quick buck.

There will always be lowlifes who take pleasure in cheating people out of their possessions and emptying their wallets. It is good that forums like ours play a role in protecting the unaware by offering sound advice and keeping a critical eye on those 'less than straightforward' dealers and collectors.
