Default British-proofed Colt 1913 Government Model

Here for your viewing pleasure is my Colt .45ACP Government Model pistol C 4958 which was 1 of 40 shipped to the London Armoury Company on September 3, 1913. It was probably one of the earliest shipped to England - if only this pistol could talk! I shot it a few times with 1942 .45 ACP and it performed flawlessly - not bad for a 100 yr old pistol! It's interesting to compare this pistol to the Model 1913 .455 Webley-Scott Navy automatic pistol.

Thanks Varilfeman
Very nice and very rare Colt 1911 variant. I notice that the frame is stamped Interarms.Where these Colts imported by them back in the 70's and 80's? Did you get a Interarms box with it? Its looks like a arsenal? refinish over the pitting.
Have never seen a Interarms Colt 1911 import, seen plenty of P38's,Walters,Astras,etc,etc.
"Verrry Interesting" as Padredan would say.

ohhhh, I love it. I like 45's as much as Lugers (carried one in the army for 3/4 of my career).

Thanks for your reply. I think Interarms did import these back in the 70s and 80s. Didn't get an Interarms box. I remember actually visiting their warehouse/store in Alexandria when I lived in Burke in the mid-80s. Too bad I didn't get any of those goodies then! Most likely it has a British arsenal refinish since many of the other British contract Colts were refinished. I'll keep an eye on the GB British Colt - it's similar to a RAF WWI Colt I already.

I see this RAF Colt Gov't Model pistol when for the nice price of $3358.00. I'm glad I got my WWI British 1917 Army Contract and 1918 RAF contract Colt Governmment Model pistols some time ago!

Yup,the price of old Colt 1911's seems to be climbing pretty high. Esp for war used guns.
I wanted to comment on your visit to the old Interarms Warehouse. That have been like visiting Aladdin's "Cave of Wonders" for a gun collector. I am so jealous
