Help ID a couple of mags

I have two magazines I am looking for more information on. I only have WW1 era DWM Lugers and I am not that knowledgable about other era Lugers. One I have been using in order to not damage my original numbered DWM mags. I am not sure if they are original or post WW2. Both mags look like original DWM mags. Nickel plated with different bases.

The first has a brown bakelite base, nice condition. Looks as though someone tried to remove the pin in the base.

The second has a wood base without any markings. Pretty tarnished but looks like it will clean up nicely oon one spot I have cleaned. Base has a crack and is loose in the mag. Stills holds when full but am worried it won't for long.

Any help on the identification of these and possible value. Thanks.

Your best approach to restoring vintage Luger magazines would be to contact G.T. (Gerald) on this forum.

These are something that you probably shouldn't consider working on yourself...

Your brown bakelite base mag is Swiss. Might have a script P on the lower back spine.

Your rusty mag is a WW1 type..likely late steel. Keep cleaning! Get that nasty rust off. It never sleeps. It will be pitted if left on.

Both mags worth about the same IMO. I would say $70-80 on the Swiss and say..$60-70 on the wood bottom. There might be other opinions on price but that's mine.

Thanks Jerry. There is no script P on the spine. What's the best way to clean. I have used steel wool and wd40. Got most the rust off but has left some darker spots. No pitting. If I keep cleaning will the spots eventually come off.

From your photos, I would say that the first mag is not Swiss, as these had DOUBLE PINNED brown plastic bottoms, that are marked with a cross on both sides of the bottom piece. The body is probably a pre-1938 Mauser nickel plated tube with a replacement (might be marked Franzite inside) plastic piece. Your pitted mag is a tin plated Weimar era DWM mag with a typical, to this period, cross-grain commerical unnumbered wood bottom. TH
