Gentlemen,
I recently came to possess a Luger. I know enough to know I know very little about Lugers (I'm a P.38 kind of guy). What I have is a byf 42 i-block Luger. Waffenamps seem correct. Is it possible to tell me whether I have a shooter grade pistol or something with some collector value? Regardless, I will be keeping it. It also came with a holster and extra magazine. Neither Magazine matches and only the one with the aluminum base plate is serialed. The holster does not appear to be correct for a Luger, a P.38 perhaps? Do you think it has been re-blued? Bore is excellent. Pictures follow: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Thank you in advance. ![]() Ez Last edited by Ezra; 03-01-2013 at 09:09 PM. |

She looks great. Looks original finish too me and appears in great condition.
Surely is not just a shooter. If all of the #'s match it's a very collectable P.08 The mags should not match a byf 42 they would have black bakelite bottoms FXO style like the one pictured. Mags were not #ed in 42. The holster does appear P-38. Congratulations I'd be very happy with it. Mike Z. Last edited by Mike Z; 02-28-2013 at 04:36 PM. Reason: can't spell sometimes |

Very nice, correct pistol. The holster has value as well. I want to say it is an Astra Holster adopted by the Germans, but the holster experts will chime in on this.

Ezra - From $100 to $150. Check E-Bay they always have alot of these holsters. Sometimes they go higher but condition always set the price.
