Like many of you, I've wanted a Luger all my life. Found a byf41 in pretty good condition for my first luger pistol. Paid more than I'd like, but looking on this board well within proper range and much cheaper than the WEB gun auctions. I'm pleased with it for a first pistol. Very pleased. Probably not much to a collector, but nice enough for me to be proud of it and not so nice that I would never want to shoot it.
Thanks to information located on this board I've already had it apart to the "field stripped" level, cleaned and lubricated it - it looks much better that when I bought it just by cleaning it up. Functions tight and well with snap caps. 9mm ammunition is literally impossible to find right now because of hoarding, so it may will be a while before I get it to the range. It has all matching numbers except the toggle pin, and magazine, of course. Does anyone have or know where I could locate a toggle pin with the number #39 on it? The way I've got it figured, with the manufacturers putting only the last two digits of the serial number on most parts, 1% or one out of each hundred pistols built would have to have a #39 toggle stamp. I've just got to locate a parts gun or spare part that has it. I am assuming that the pins for all the WWII model pistols (36-42) are interchangable. Correct? Any suggestions on my quest will be appreciated. Not new to guns and pistols, but completely new to lugers. Doug |

You might try Lugerdoc on this forum. His name is Tom Heller. Nice guy to deal with and very knowledgeable. You should also put a need on the wanted part of this forum. Welcome to the crazy luger world. Bill

Put in signature line "looking for toggle pin #39'
It is best not to ask three times in one evening about the same thing in three different postings ![]() |

Set up a E-bay search that notifies you daily. Search terms like "Luger toggle". Same with Gunbroker, auction arms, etc. And if the gun is really worth it watch for a roached out shooter that number ends in 39. Switch pins and sell it off.
Try google searches for Luger parts. Like you say, one of every 99 pins for sale is your number. dju |

Not necessarily but probably. Mauser made various size toggle pins..you will see them with size designations written on the ends..Undersize and oversize.

sorry, many folks here are on other forums, i.e. Jan Still's forum, main gunboards.com etc
I see the entire forum (here as one entity) and realize that many folks look at only one area.... My bad, I will have noticed that something is said on the Imperial part of this forum and others have no clue. Since I at least look at each heading, I keep up, also know most of the members who post often by name and many personally....
