I understand your feelings completely. It's one of the reasons I choose not to collect. I have a shooter that I'm VERY sure of it's lineage, and I paid the princely sum of $375 for it. I had it reworked and it shoots like a dream.

The Luger and it's history is a fascinating subject, and I feel you can learn and study all of it without buying and owning (which is what I'm attempting to do) and maybe someday, I might even be good enough to spot them fakes, but in the meantime, I'll love them from a distance.
