I have an Arisaka 99 which I shoot a good bit. I have looked up all the markings on the barrel and know the following:
Arsenal - Tokyo Juki Kogyo - manufuctured from 1940-1945 Series - 37 SN - 12125 Although I found plenty on barrel markings, there is a maring on the bottom side of the stock (See Picture). I can find nothin on this marking, if it actually is one. It looks like one to me. But I know we have a variety of collectors on this site and I'm curious does other Arisaka's have markings in this same location and if they know what this marking actually means. I have been looking for awhile now on the internet and I'm just lost. So if anyone can give me any insight on this I would be greatful. |

Note that the 2 symbols on the stock pics in that clip are the same mark. I rotated 90 degrees to what I think its actual orientation would be if it was written down. The bottom left picture of the stock you can barely see it just below the sling connection.
I never thought about an Arisaka forum. I'm going to do a search a see if I can find one. Thanks |

I don't know Japanese rifle. But the Kanji on the wood looks like "社". Since the 3-circle logo on the barrel identify the manufacturer (learned that on a Nambu), this Kanji is probably an acceptance stamp.

Also try Gunboards forum. Scroll through and you will find a Japanese weapons board. Excellent info base.

Thanks. I'll check them out as well. I got onto parallax curio and relic firearm forum last night and posted that picture in the section where they had a bunch of Arisaka's in threads.
I do appreciate yall's comments. Acceptance stamp is probably what it is. |
