Going to be sadder for California... really bad politics passing a new assault weapons ban... California is proposing insane restrictions... WoW, never thought I'd see this... Bad weather ahead boys! .........Get ready..... best to all, til....lat'r....GT

BTW, If it wasn't so sad it'd be funny...but, China is wearing out Chinese to become what we are, and, we're busting our ass to become what China once was?? ..... Takes some pretty slick politicians to get that done!!.... best to all, til...lat'r...GT

Also, watch for high speed capacity (over 50mph) cars to come into their cross hairs...

Sounds like 2nd Amendment infringement to me...

It's stunning and crazy. Am I to understand correctly that this law would effectively ban the venerable M1 Garand?!? I just reread the Heller decision and I'm not sure that would withstand constitutional scrutiny. We aren't talking about banning machine guns or sawed-off shotguns, but weapons and magazines that are commonly possessed.

Gonna be interesting - my parents drive out to AZ every winter, and take my .22 semiauto with them. As they travel through NY, and the pistol has 2 9 round mags with it, I guess they are now felons....

Hard for me to believe that another state is now worse than Illinois when it comes to gun rights.

The NY law text is located at:

http://open.nysenate.gov/legislation/bill/S2230-2013

The wording is complex, but it seems to exclude curio and relic firearms (but not more modern replicas). Same thing for "large capacity ammunition feeding devices". I think it says you can own a M1 if it's registered.

I think it gives you a pass on owning an Enblock clip more than 50 years old, but would have to be registered.

That truly is crazy...

"worse than Illinois"

Ever hear of Massachusetts? Since 1998 the MA Attorney General has been a handgun designer, where do you think the mag disconnects, loaded chamber indicators, and key locks on guns came from? For a handgun to be sold in this state it has to be on BOTH the Attorney Generals approved handgun list AND the Executrive Office of Public Safety approved handgun list. Browning cannot sell any handgun in the state, and of all the .22 semiauto models that Ruger makes only the SR22 can be sold here!

Just why is it that Left Wing states make life like crap for their voters and why do they continue to be relelected? Don't Democrats know better?

Is New York serious?!! I hope the article I'm reading is wrong but it states something about background checks for buying ammunition!!!!!

Will there be a waiting period instituted for buying ammo too?!!!

What does that mean for those who reload for themselves, will they be outlawed?!!!

This is just insane!!

Default Worst part!!!

Hey guys, the assault guns are the small fry this time... they pale in comparison to the registration provisions of any anti gun law... That's their big score in this deal... next, their going to cut each one out like a brainless sheep, and tell YOU, if your sane enough or not, to own a gun....If they know where the guns are, and know where you are... then the rest is pretty easy to see.... Like I said, stormy weather ahead.. I'm really glad I live in AZ about now... hope it changes for those in the United States of California and New York....best to all, til...lat'r....GT

Default 7 round max capacity

As everywhere in the free world: You get what you've voted for.

Background check for ammo will probably just like MA where a pistol permit or FID card has to be shown to buy ammo...not a big deal actually.
