Well seeing as how I could never get another Grandfather to serve in another 65th Div in another WWII to bring back another Luger,,, 1,000 or 10,000 , I don't think you'll be sending a check anywhere.
S/42 K Date Early Nazi Era Rework Mauser 4" barrel, 9mm caliber. It has a stock lug,and the extractor and safety are marked. This was the first Luger that utilized codes to represent maker and date of manufacture. The front toggle link in marked "S/42" in either Gothic or script; this was code for Mauser. The chamber area is stamped with the letter"K", the code for 1934, the year of manufacture. Approximately 10,500 were manufactured with one- to five-digit serial numbers-some with letter suffixes. Exc. $6000 V.G. $4000 Good $2200 Fair $1200 Poor $1000 Mine is number 1159 and I would rate slightly better than Very Good. Last edited by joeyhol75; 11-18-2012 at 04:35 PM. |
