I like competitive shooting, and was wondering if I could be silly by showing up with my Luger (a shooter), but I would need a holster that's a little more than a leather gun shaped sleeve with a flap.
All I'm finding are vintage or repo's. Anyone have a line on anything remotely modern? |

welcome to the Luger Forum. ..First on an admin. note..Please modify your member profile to include a first name. Not many people named R. To answer your question, Stoeger makes a more or less modern Luger holster. They are occasionally offered on Ebay. You might want to Google search and something might pop up that interests you. I also have seen quite a variety of open top Luger holsters..Just a matter of widening your search. I don't know of any modern makes currently available. Jerry Burney Moderator

Are you considering using a Luger in USPSA / IPSC style competition?
I personally would not do this. The safety mechanisms and design of the Luger doesn't (in my opinion) qualify for action style competition. That said, I imagine you could get used to working with a Luger in action competition. I wonder what a "Race Gun" Luger conversion would look like? Marc

You can commission a custom holster from one of the many excellent leathersmiths a google search will turn up. I have custom molded leather holsters for my HiPowers, 1911's and others. I'm positive that whatever your needs are, a custom rig that exactly meets them is just a phone call away. In fact, I am in process of having a custom fitted field holster for a Browning Buckmark made now, just because NOTHING exists on the aftermarket for that particular pistol. Surely your Luger deserves something made just for it?

Thanks, at most this was going to be for Steel Challange. I wasn't going to "move" and shoot with it. As mentioned by others, the safety is a challange and not easy to actuate. But it would be neat for steel challange

No line on one, but you see them occasionally. I sold this one a few years ago.

Yes, the ultimate 'alternative' luger holster. And the pistol can be fired without taking it out of the holster.

Probably only once.
At a lot of matches, all holsters are required to restrict access to the trigger of a holstered firearm. That skeleton holster sure does have a lot of "cool". Jack
