My Arty had its stock lug ground off. I paid G.T. about 1/16 of that $400 for a rear frame half that still had the lug, to prepare for that project. So if it's for a project that uses less than half of the frame, it makes more logistical and economic sense to buy one of those chunks. I see better advantage taken of what's there to use it for a Martz style conversion, which, if one used a big front "half" of this frame to marry to the other donor's big back "half", then he'd have remaining the smaller back "half" from this one for a stock lug restoration!

I say, if you're going to chop up something irreplaceable, be as creatively frugal as you can with the material and use every possible bit of it.

If we use the "Simpson Rule"* we'd multiply the price by 0.66 arrive at a figure that is more humane and in line with what we'd think it should cost. Doesn't $260 sound more reasonable?
