alanint User Join Date: Mar 2008 Location: Marco Island, Florida Posts: 4,867 Thanks: 1,685 Thanked 1,917 Times in 1,193 Posts	I own both an XM177E1 (Army, 10" barrel) and an XM177E2 (Army, 11.5" barrel) and neither work from an open bolt. The M16/AR15 systems are closed bolt systems. Period. The only exceptions are the one I detail above and the rare M231 Port Firing Weapon.
