Default 1917 artillery 9mm dwm

This is a 1917 dwm artillery in 9mm, with holster, numbers are matching, mag is not, correct period, not matching. over all it is rough, not alot of finish and a bunch of pitting, bore is rough, price is 2350.00 but i havn't started to negotiate. I am thinking this maybe a restoration on the pistol and holster, but that depends on what i have to pay to get into it. I hope i do not bore too many with finds while scouting around. but i like to look for shooters and collectables.

I am not sure, but I think that is a modified French holster that was extended to accommodate the LP08.

How much would it cost to restore that thing? 2300$? then it woudnt be original. are you just wanting it for yourself or are considering selling it down the road?

Ron,

You're right. This is a holster for the French Saint Etičnne Modele 1892 revolver. It is what is called "old model" pattern.

Here is mine, with an old battle horse, a kind of "Luger nemesis" of the WWI trench warfare.

Padre,

I think the price is high for the gun (maybe 500-700 in excess), but as I do not live in US, I'll let the others do the math here.

All the best,

Douglas

I have to applaud your wanting an Artillery, they are a hoot to shoot and have a charm all their own. This one, however, is way overpriced. I'd not go much over $1000.
Check the For Sale section and contact Jerry Burney NOW!

Have no clue about the holster, except that it is modified and would be worth more if it were not. If you were patient, I feel that a nicer Arty could be had for notably less. I bought a #s matching 1918 that was nicely refinished with a MecGar mag from Ralph Shattuck right before he died and paid $1600. Soon after I was seeing similar items here for a few hundred less and regretted buying it. However, that was over 2 years ago. YMMV

I made him an offer of 1.100.00 on the pistol and holster, which he declined, and actualy i think i made him a solid offer due to the condition.
