Default Barrel length question

When you measure the length of the barrel on a 9 mm P-08, do you measure from the end of the breech block, or from the end of the extractor? I have three Lugers and they all measure 3 and 7/8 inches from the end of the breech block to the muzzle. Is this what everyone refers to as a 4 inch barrel just rounded off? I know the Germans didn't measure in inches, but centimeters and millimeters.

Rick, The standard Army issue PO8 has a 9x100mm barrel, the Navy PO4 is 9x150 and the "Artillery" LPO8 is 9x200mm. Most 20 commericals, made under Versailles Tready restrictions have 7.65x95 or 98mm barrels, although both Stoeger, on the east coast, and Pacific Arms on the west, would install longer barrels from 4" to 22" (in 2" increments) in either 7.65 or 9mm to a customer's specifications. Default barrel manufacturers

Hello

Besides the Germans themselves what other factories/countries did manufacture replacement barrels for P08 ?

I just recently aquired a Finnish 'Tikkakoski' made 100mm barrel in 9mm caliber. It dates to WWII era, and has never been shot.

Also another Finnish armoury - SAKO - has manufactured barrels for Lugers in the same time era.

I'd like to get additional info on this, pls do jump in if you know anything on this issue.
