Joe, I did multiply the price of the Luger, $25.00 by the rate of inflation which I believe was 598.4% and that is how I arrived at a price of $149.60 as of last Nov. As far as taking the time to calculate the compound effect of inflation over a period of nearly 42 years it just wasn't worth the effort I was just looking for a ball park figure but thank you for your input.
