You point about the water is a valid one. I live in NW Indiana, but have well water. Being close to the Lake Michigan basin, we have very good water, but it does get a bit nasty at times. I run both a water filter and a Kinetico water softener to remove most of the iron and sulphur traces. Initially I did use distilled water, but found no difference between using that and my well water, but I think I was very lucky. That said, I would definitely agree that going with distilled water would save you a lot of heartache! Mark D |
