The neccesity of the stock lug
Finally having the honor of owning a luger with a stock luger except my 1906 French Luger. It made no sence to me the make lugers with stock lugs and only three major lugers that have a stock as part of a complete luger. the artillery and navy. Its illegal to attach a stock to any other without a special exemption. " The obvious reason for the lug is to allow the attachment of a wooden shoulder stock. These stocks were manufactured for the carbine, the more common 8" barreled Artillery Model and the less frequently encountered 6" barreled navy model. The stocked carbines were manufactured by DWM for commercial sale prior to WW1 for commercial sale prior to WW1 and to a more limited during the Weimer period. The Artillery Model was the product of both DWM and Erfurt, while the naval version was was solely manufactured by DWM. The stock sold with commercial carbines was magnificently turned out complete with checkereing. The stocks issued with the artillery and Naval variations being of the flat board type.....Very simple, the stock lug was an ideal attachment poiint for holding the frame while the remaining and not inconsiderable finiashing process was completed."....Very simple, the stock lug was an ideal attachment point for holding the frame while the remaining and not inconsiderable finisahing process was completed..THE KRIEGHOFF PARABELLUM'
