The ootside marking is definately From the Weimar period. The J.W.G. is " Inspektion fur Waffern und Gerat " followed by the weapon number. It appears that this was crossed out and another weapon number 1538 added. A nicely marked holster with lots of history. I am sure someone with more unit knowledge will reply. Welcome to the forum.
