I'd probably look up into the mag well with a small light... I'd not risk breaking the grips, untill I have had a few lesser condition Luger disassemblies under my belt... first... Or, just take the right hand grip off, it is less prone to breakage...
It looks right, and is a desirable variation, in great shape... Just a guess, but i'm guessing approx. 2k... maybe??.. Give or take a few 100...
