Default My new friend Artie

I am the new caretaker of this, thanks to RIAC.

Will submit comprehensive photos after I receive the pistol. The ground-off stock lug is something I can live with, also the classic left grip chip. I probably overpaid, at $1200+ fees + transfer, but it does not seem like too much.
Comments/opinions?

David, over paying is a relative term. If you are happy, then be happy.

I think any shooter artillery is worth a $1000, and that was several years ago.

So, my congrats to you!

BTW, my first luger was / is a heavily buffed, reblued erfurt arty and it still sits in my safe

Ed, thanks for the reassurance. I took a little care not to be entirely buried by my first purchase; the shopping I did beforehand helped with this a lot. Seeing so many to check out at once was quite an experience, I must say. And my Proxibid experience, so far, was not bad at all. Glad I have broadband, though, because there was noticeable time delay in the setup.
Generally, it seemed to me that higher end stuff went high, medium value stuff was high, and a handful of shooters sold for under $1k,( but NOT for 4-600!) but most regular, low-end Lugers sold for at least 1500. < < My impressions.

I don't think $1200 is bad for a "shooter" Artillery if all else is in good condition. As Ed says, It all relative. If you're happy with it, that's all that really matters. Much better than taking a $2500 Artie out and breaking a part. You can always replace the part on this one without going in the tank on your investment.
