About 15 years ago, or so, I rust blued my carbine with some 'german rust blue' I bought from a guy running a small ad in Shotgun News. Was easy and made a satiny finish. It was in a small bottle and a thick, kind of beige color. Not sure if pics do it justice, dark, but not black. Attached Images
