The K98 rifle front sight fits the notch in the front and is taller than the Lugers.

Tom Heller, (Luger Doc) here on the site will almost certainly have what you need.

The sight from a P-38 may also provide the height you need... I know the dovetail is the same...

If Tom doesn't have one, Numrich (Gun Parts Inc) has blank Mauser front sights that fit the dovetail and can be filed down to the correct height.

If you use a P.38 front sight, you have two choices to make it more functional. The blade as a flat top as opposed to the pointed top of the Luger front sight.

Your first choice would be to modify the sight blade to a contour you find pleasing, or tapered which would be matching the original.

Your second option, to be used ONLY if your gun is a mismatched shooter class pistol, would be to open the rear V-notch to a square contour to match the new front sight. This would give the gun a more modern sight picture, and perhaps make it easier to use for active pistol shooters...

Of course I don't recommend making either modification until you determine that the sight is tall enough for your purposes...

Good Luck and let us know how it goes...
