New Luger
Hey all, this is my first luger. Very excited to finally own one, I've been around military guns my whole life, as well as in the USAF right now. Anyway, here are some pictures. It's a mismatch for sure, but I'm ok with that, an honest shooter. All the small parts are numbered 60, matching the receiver except the sideplate and the trigger bar, which are marked 80 matching the slide and barrel. The aluminum magazine has the number ground off of it.
please, any comments or suggestions are welcome. thanks JD |

thanks all, so could someone tell me why the slide/barrel and sideplate/trigger bar are numbered to each other, yet the toggle and everything are matched to the frame. I was thinking arsenal/russian capture refurb but any suggestions?

Your guess is as good as any. No rhyme or reason to these things. Most of us have had or seen one gun that was originally 2. The trick is finding the other half of the equation.
Make up any reason you want because no one will be able to disprove it. Russian rebuild? Yes, sir. Soldiers sitting in a circle throwing parts into a helmet as they cleaned their weapons, You betcha'. Maybe even Eli Walach (Tucha) making the ultimate functioning Luger for his never ending war with Blondie. I'm sure that 'Ole Wilie Coyote could be worked into this story... Anyway, you get the picture. My $.02 and well worth every penny. dju |

Nice 1937... I own her sister... She was brought back from WW2 by my late Dad... a shooter just like yours, but priceless in my heart. I hope yours brings you much joy...
Thanks for your service to our country from an old retired soldier...
