Hello,
This is my first time to this website. I have found it very informative, but I still am seeking information. I do not claim to know a lot about guns. I recently acquired this Luger. It has the engraving DWM. It has the number 85 on the receiver, on the trigger, on the back near the sight, and underneath the barrel it has 8185. It also has in numerous places what looks like a crown with a letter N underneath. It is missing the magazine and I believe the retention clip (piece that goes by the trigger). I am placing some photos on here as well. I would appreciate any historical information and of course any estimated value. Thanks and God bless. |

Hi Bill,
Welcome. The full serial# is 8185k. It is classified as an Alphabet DWM commercial (formerly 1920 commercial). It was made in 1922. The crown/N stamps are commercial firing proofs. The missing part is a sideplate.

Thanks Mike,
Do you have any estimation of what it would be worth? ____________________________ Bill G. |

Just a guestimate... $400 with no sideplate and no mag.
