Hi Dan,
There are two types of tubes used for Luger mags. The first is like yours, two pieces of folded sheet metal. The second type is an extruded one piece tube with no seams. The tubes are nickel plated or blued. There are three types of bottoms, wood, aluminum, and Bakelite or plastic. The configuration of the mag, tube type, color, bottom, along with the serial# w/suffix, and acceptance stamps, helps us date it. There are also a few more paragraphs of smaller details...
