Don,

I think that you might look to reducing the load that you are shooting.

Some loads that are advertised as OK are at times too rough on these old weapons.

It would be wise to stone and polish the points of wear to a mirror finish and lubricate these points with a high pressuure grease every ten or so shots.

This may help with the galling action of opening the toggle.
