Default Re: Reichsbahn

In Virginia in 1996 there was a 7.65 commercial luger at a gun show that had R.B.D.Mg.xx on the grip strap in same style and location as on unit marked lugers of other types. The seller was Robert Lamb (Ã??ntique Arms Consultant) and he was selling it as a machine gun unit's luger. He is a nice guy, a vet, and a long time collector that was touting how doing his research (he has Costanzo, eg) enabled him to make such identifications. Although I don't know that I would employ him as an arms consultant, I often wonder if that was truly an Reichsbahn Directorate luger from the Magdeburg rail offices. Magdeburg, according to a German acquaintance, is an important rail hub.
