Take it by the window on a cloudy day or out, kinda in the shade.
Another thing I do, is take it with a flash, but far away and zoomed up. Using your macro next to the window or under an awning works really well. Plenty of light and/or plenty of exposure is the trick (exposure is better than more lighting). Ed
