Default Help Me Pick My Next Artillery Luger...

Greetings,

I’m relatively new to the world of Luger collecting and am considering purchasing an Artillery Luger. There are two on gunbroker right now that I’m considering but I’m having a hard time deciding on which one. I’m including the link to both pistols and would be grateful for your collective opinions and recommendations before I take the plunge.

Thanks in advance!

You need to ask yourself what you want it for. I like artilleries for shooters, which either of these would do fine.
But if you want them as collector's pieces, then you are too late on either one of these.
I suggest that you keep looking, maybe post a WANTED ad on this forum.
The first is pathetically over-buffed prior to re-blue, and the second one, well my eyes glaze over whenever I try to read one of their descriptions.
Sorry to not be more gung-ho on these 2.

The second pistol has one heck of a machining gouge in the right receiver "ear" and an incorrect/rebuilt takedown lever. I don't think the gun left the factory with that router gouge.

Good advise. Both are shooters and overpriced. Bill

What makes the listed Erfurt "one of a kind"?
