Looks grooved to me, did you click on the picture and enlarge it? Another tip off that it isn't one of the Mitchell or Stoegers is that the locking bolt uses the "L" shaped spring that protrudes down through the frame in front of the trigger guard. Also note the clearance cut for said spring on the right side of the frame at the 6 o'clock position of the locking bolt. The Mitchell and Stoeger used a ball detent that was staked inside the frame.
