Hi David, It's hard to tell much about this Luger from the photos you have provided. It looks too shiny to be original, but that may just be the lighting. Let us have more info. Do all the numbers match? How much is it? Regards, Norm

It does look like the safety bar and the toggle axle retaining pin are still in the white. That would point to the pistol not having been refinished.

As Norm mentioned, there isn't much detail in the photos, so it's hard to be of much help.

Agree with all of the above. It is a 1939, 42, Mauser made luger. Proofs should be E/63, E/63, sometimes E/655. Late test proof. Serial range; 200r-8259z. About 85,500 made.

My concerns basically are the finish. It just looked too shiney to me. The owner is a guy I've done business with before and he doesn't know the history. He traded for it himself. The numbers do match and he's wanting $1100 for it.
