Hi,
Again, I already had posted this on Still's forum, but I will give it a try here also. Hope you don't mind. Well, last year I managed to get some interesting pieces from a guy was was leaving the gun collecting activity. This one is is one of them: a Mauser P.38, dated 1944, "v" block. Condition is great only bearing some holster wear in the high edges. It is matching down to the bone. From the beginning of my deal with the collector who was selling the lot, this was my primary target, as I did not have a byf code in my collection. Besides that, the gun's condition was great, and it came with a nice hardshell holster and a spare mag. What more could I ask for? Now it stands together with my ac44, "f" block and I'm happy as a clown with this pair! Greetings, Douglas I tried to do my best with the pictures, but you may like them... So, I hope you guys enjoyed as much as I did. Greetings, Douglas. |

(1) Does byf stand for boy friend?
![]() (2) Heard holster of this style was for Nazi Police (or security force) gun, true or not? |

Douglas, really nice byf 44. Congratulations!!
Alvin, 1) No byf does not mean boy friend!!! ![]() 2) The holster is standard MILITARY for a P.38. |

Thanks for the compliments. I really enjoyed this one.
My good friend Alvin, I don't think that byf stands for boyfriend. It doesn't fit the wartime nazi Germany... ![]() On the other hand, as Frank already said, this is a standard military hardshell holster. Police holsters had a different setting arrangement for for the closing strap, similar to the Luger Police holsters. Douglas |
