Default Luger P08 BYF

First, this place seems like a great resource to Luger enthusiasts.

Now for some pictures...

http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v7...3/Luger%20P08/

I have a couple questions.

1) Is the holster a Totenkopf/SS, and if so, what's it worth?
2) Should I shoot this gun, and if so, what kind of bullets should be shot through it?

And if anyone can tell me more info about the gun, that would be great. From what I gleaned from the site, it's a Mauser proof from 1941, but other than that, I have no idea.

Many thanks.

Curious,
Is this rig yours or are you going to purchase it? I'll reserve comments.

Thanks,
Holster is definitely not a real issue Luger holster. Look's sorta home made. Pistol looks nice and is 9mm parabellum caliber. Be sure to have it checked out by a competent gunsmith before shooting.

HI, Welcome to the forum. Your Luger looks very nice. Does the magazine have a matching number? If it was my gun I would not shoot it. Regards, Norm

Yes, the number at the bottom of the magazine matches the gun - '9450'.

Also, are the grips correct? It seems as though the BYF guns should have black grips.

Thank you.

Hi, The grips appear to be correct. Most 41 byf's had wood grips. That matching mag. is a real plus! Regards, Norm
