Jerry, IIRC a German gun magazine did a shooting test with one of the prototype guns when they first appeared.
Vlim, Is that published on line that you know of? I would like to read that! I know what Krieghoff did was a great accomplishment..but in the grand scheme of things it was of little import as well. No common Luger nut can afford one. If they had gotten them down to $5000 even..... then it might have been exciting. Owning one might have been possible. With the availability of VERY nice Lugers still within economic reason I will buy an original. You will only have millionairs that can afford a New Krieghoff. Perhaps thats as it should be...who can say? I have a beat up 1937 Krieghoff I think I have $1000 in so far and it has history written all over it. The stampings are fascinating and I know when and where it's been, a part of military history. Frankly I would find it much more interesting in the long run than a New one. New Krieghoffs are an investment strategy and status symbol of the wealthy..I doubt many will even be shot by their owners. I am happy Krieghoff made them but they are of little importance to me.
