The Mitchell era mags will work in a standard Luger. The Stoeger era mags will not, as the design was altered to accommodate the 40 S&W cartridge as well as the 9 mm Parabellum. Likewise, the Stoeger erea pistols will not take a standard magazine. 1993 would have been during the Mitchell era.

Lugerdoc shows the standard magazine. The Stoeger variant is much smoother appearing on the sides.

Sadly, the 40 S&W chambering never went into production. I would like to have seen one in 357 Sig.
