Default Re: need help in identifying and pricing Luger

Sounds like a nice original WWI military made by DWM, with one matching mag. If all numbers (last two digits on most small parts, including some internal ones) and blue and straw finishes (straw is the yellow (from heat treating)) are good with no pits etc, then value will be above average, as this is a relatively low production pistol. The 5.J.3.54 or whatever is a "unit mark", found on some guns designating the particular fighting unit to which the pistol was assigned. The holster is late nazi and is not original issue, but may be "correct" at least historically, if pistol served into WWII! Actual physical condition and originality is what will determine the final "value" of this piece and its accessories.
